So me and my sister was watching this show called ‘Snack Attack’ on Channel 8 the other they, and they were featuring Otak, and suddenly my Sis said she had a craving, so I told her that there was this stall near Heartland Mall coffee shop which specially sold Otak.
And it so happened on the show the last location that they featured was the exact same one I was telling my Sis about. ‘The stall with a huge Otak on its sign board’.
So after much fuss I told her I’ll bring her there.
-
So we went across for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
-
-This was the stall, it isn't that hard to spot, you know with the Ginormous OTAK. There wasn't many people there, but there were people there constantly buying Otak.
-
-
We bought Nasi Lemak to go along with our Otak, though it wasn't very good they were very generous with the Chilli, the rice was pretty hard and the Fish was hard to eat, cause it was pretty small and it was hard to remove the small bones. But the Chilli was GOOD! It compensated for most of it, though after awhile I found it too hot.-

This was the normal fish Otak, if you looked carefully you would be able to see the fish meat, so it had a nice chewy texture, it wasn't very spicy and not salty as well, I enjoyed it ALOT! -
-
This is the shrimp Otak, you can actually see the WHOLE shrimp POPPING out, it isn't chopped into little pieces, and there isn't one, OR two, but at least THREE full shrimps inside. That was a whole mouth full of GOODNESS in that leaf.

This was the squid one, I liked it alot, there was huge chunks of squid as well, so it had a really good chewy bite to it as well. Definately coming back for more!

FINALLY. We headed to Compass Point hoping to get a free cup of coffee from Starbucks as we read on the Newspaper that they were going to give out free coffee that day for some donation drive. This was what we saw, we agreed to wait behind 10 people at most, BUT.. we under estimated SINGAPOREANS. FREE? I want want! They were even willing to wait 2hours for one PATHETIC cup of COFFEE. ARGH!
And this was not even 30 percent of the LINE!
My sis and I would GLADLY pay for our Coffee.
Thank You.
Sharolyn is NOT proud to be a Singaporean.
